Welcome to the web site of the Department of Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Evansville.

The Exercise and Sport Science Department offers majors in Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Physical Education, Sport Communication, Sport Management and Clinical Laboratory Science. All of these majors provide opportunities for experience in a wide variety of educational endeavors.

The Exercise Science major is endorsed by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

EXERCISE AND SPORT SCIENCE NEWS!

UE Physical Education Students Ranked 2nd in the State of Indiana!!

The Exercise and Sport Science Physical Education Majors currently have a 100% pass rate on the Praxis II Teacher Licensure Exam and have received the second highest passing scores in the state of Indiana (out of 46 colleges/universities).

Changes to EXSS Majors and Minors

The Department has a new Administration track for the Exercise Science Major and new Minors in Sport Management and Sport Communication.

The Exercise and Sport Science Department has added a third track to the Exercise Science Major called Administration. This track is designed for those students who plan to assume responsibilities of management or administration in the field of Exercise, Health and/or Wellness.  For more information about this exciting new opportunity please visit our Exercise Science Major site.

Cross-Cultural Academy in Health Care
May 11 - June 14

The Cross-Cultural Academy in Health Care will offer classes at Harlaxton, England during the first Summer Session 2012. The EXSS Department will offer the following class.

EXSS H488/H499 Cardiac Rehabilitation: An International Perspective
This is a 3 credit hour class that utilizes a comparative approach to study the design, implementation and administration of a multidimensional cardiac rehabilitation program in the American and British health care systems. For UE-EXSS students, this class will provide 3 credits of EXSS 488 credit. For those students not EXSS students EXSS 499 will provide 3 credits at the 400 level.
